It’s been hard.
I’m trying my best to keep my photo challenge going, but it seems like the only time I have for photo-ing is on the weekend. I will do better! In the meantime, here’s where I’m at.
We’ve been going up to the mountain a lot, which is great for a lot of reasons. We get to be outside moving around and exercising, and it’s total eye candy for photos. These are just a few of my favorites from one of our trips up to Silver.
We got lucky around the middle of January and the sun came out for a few days. Juneau and I totally soaked up as much sun as possible. We went for a walk down to the City Beach and did some people watching, geese chasing and exploring. As a dog-owner I love this time of year because nobody leaves their houses. We can go to the park, beach and Tubbs Hill and not worry about seeing anyone. I let Juneau off her leash and she can run free and explore her home. It’s a beautiful thing.
Sometimes winter sucks. It just does. When the snow is a foot high and it’s a rainy, slushy mess, who wants to go out in that? But on days when the sun pokes through the clouds and you can see ice crystals sparkle from a mile away; you suddenly don’t feel so trapped and suddenly winter isn’t such a curse, rather a gift.
Stay warm everyone! Spring is just a few months away.
Beautiful photos! I particularly like the tree-lined sidewalk. Keep focusing on “the gift” of Winter & it’ll fly by!
Thank you! And it’s true, the more you take time to enjoy the winter, the quicker it goes. Thanks for reading!
