Hayden Days July 27 & 28

Hayden days is this weekend! As a former Hayden-er (Haydenite?) this event is close to my heart (awwww). After all, I was Little Miss Hayden in first grade. No kidding, you’re in the presence of royalty.
Just kidding.  But really.
The events all kick-off on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Hayden City Park. This year’s theme is “A Community that Cares.” There’s plenty of food and craft vendors, as well as a beer garden and balloon rides. From 7-10 p.m. each night there will be live music featuring Scorpius and Overdrive, respectively.
Festivities kick-off early Saturday with a pancake breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. courtesy of Northern Lakes Fire District and the Hayden Chamber of Commerce. Who wouldn’t want pancakes served by hunky firemen? The pancake feed is at the Northern Lakes fire station located on Hayden Ave. and Gov’t Way. The Parade begins at 10 a.m. along Gov’t Way so eat early!

Finally head back to the park for the rest of Saturday’s events and activities including a talent show, car show, games, food, vendors, and other great family activities.

Don’t miss it!

Don’t let superstion get in the way of your super weekend!

Just because it’s Friday the 13th, that doesn’t mean you have to go into hiding until midnight. Although I guess you can if you want. There’s still plenty of fun to be had! Personally, we’ll be chilling out at home tonight, as the Hayden Triathlon is tomorrow morning. I highly suggest coming to cheer on the competitors. It seems to get bigger every year.

Will we ever have a weekend to work on the house? Probably not.

Wallace Blues Festival
July 13-14, Downtown Wallace is hosting a blues festival. If you’re interested in trying something different I encourage you to take the lovely drive over to check it out. There will be concerts, food, more concerts, and probably some drinks and sunshine in the mix. Check it out, or call (208)753-7151.

Sorry for the blur, haha!
Andy Day performs at Seasons
July 7, 2012
Rock the Dock
As with every Friday, Rock the Dock is down at the Boardwalk Marina from 4-7. DJ Rogue Naipo will be turnin’ the tunes.
There will be no Uncorked this weekend due to a poker run.

 315 Martini Bar
Andy Day is performing tonight at 315 Martini Bar and Tapas. He’s a great guitarist and performer. We saw him play at Season a week or so ago and he did some great covers. Plus he takes requests and suggestion for new material. Highly suggest checking him out! On Saturday you can go check out the Frantz Brothers. Let me know what you think!
Bill Bozly will be at Season Friday and Saturday. I have yet to see him perform, but if he’s anything like most of they’re entertainment, he’s worth checking out.
Send me photos from your weekend festivities, where you are, what you’re doing. Maybe I’ll even post them.
Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday!

Local troops carry the flag for the
annual 4th of July parade on Sherman Ave.
It’s that time of the week again, happy Friday!
I hope everyone had a very happy and safe 4th of July. I know the celebration will continue on into the weekend for many.
The annual parade was a big hit as always, although I do think they need to work on some consistency for spacing between attractions. But overall it was a great family event as always with fire trucks, air planes, local troops, horses, and even a new float this year.

But let’s get to the good stuff going on this weekend!

Ring of Fire – Any Cash fans out there? And I don’t mean the green kind. The Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre’s production of “Ring of Fire” tells the story of the one, Mr. Johnny Cash. The show runs through the 15th at NIC. Tonight’s show is at 7:30 at Boswell Hall. Vist Cd’ or call (208)769-7780 for more info.

Rock the Dock – Head down to the Resort Marina for Rock the Dock tonight from 4-7. The band Blueprint is playing. Should be a great time, and great weather!

Joining Rock the Dock tonight is Surfin’ Cd’A. Bring some friends for discounted wake surfing for up to four people at a time. Cost is $25 per person, one-hour time slots begin at 4 and will fill up fast!

Carlin Bay – Tonight Carlin Bay Resort is hosting the band, “YESTERDAYSCAKE” beginning at 7:30. If you’re into classic rock, and happen to be out on the lake stop in and check it out. And then let me know if they’re any good.

Seasons –  Andy Day will be performing acoustic guitar at Seasons tonight. If you’re looking for some great, local food and talent that’s the best we can do!

Farmer’s Market – Head over to the Kootenai County Farmer’s Market on the corner of 95 and Prairie. Local vendors from all over head here to sell their goods. Great plants, food and entertainment as well as artisans and crafters.

Uncorked at the Boardwalk – This week at Uncorked, my favorite local winery is pouring, so you better be there. From 4-7 Pend d’Oreille Winery will be serving up some of their famous Bistro Rouge (I hope!) while the Les Moore duo  greets the crowd with some sweet jazz music. I have a feeling you all know where I’ll be tomorrow!

Pirate Cruises – The pirate cruises are back with a vengeance! Actually they’re quite fun for all ages. The cruises run multiple times each week, call (208)765-4000 for more info or to make a reservation. However, I posted this specifically under “Saturday” because there’s an adults-only cruise at 6:30. Enjoy pirate garb, drinks, dancing, and even beer pong while aboard the Resort’s own pirate ship.
