What are you doing this weekend?

Sorry for the time lapse between posts, we were out of town, exploring the wilderness of Glacier National Park. I will have a great post for you this weekend about our trip.

In the meantime, I need to fill you in about what’s happening this weekend since the weekend begins in T-4 hours.

Rock the Dock and Uncorked at the Boardwalk are this weekend, like every weekend. It all goes down from 4-7 at the boardwalk. DJ T-Parks (Tony Parks the Marina Dockmaster) will be crankin’ the tunes tonight. But the real treat is tomorrow for Uncorked. This week Clearwater Canyon Cellars will be featured and entertainment will be provided by the Les Moore duo.

While you’re down there (because I know you want to go) meet and greet with marina tenants, staff and the new wakeboard instructor.

The Boardwalk Wake School is kicking off this week. On Monday they’ll be shooting a great promo video that will play inside the Resort and will be on their Facebook page within the next couple weeks. I heard they’re having a contest through July where you can win some great wake school swag OR two free hours on the boat (with or without lessons). Check it out!

Spokane is hosting Hoopfest this weekend, the world’s largest 3-on-3 basketball tourney. It’s too late to register now, but it’s fun just to go walk around and watch. There are food vendors galore and a TON of people. The Hoopfest site describes the event as, “over 7,000 teams, 3,000 volunteers, 250,000 players and fans, 458 courts spanning 42 downtown city blocks, and that’s just on day one! Beyond basketball, though, Hoopfest is an outdoor festival chock full of shopping, food, interactive entertainment, and every year brings some thing new.”

Ironman is approaching

Sunday was a beautiful but very windy day at the
Highlands Country Club in Post Falls

Hope everyone out there had a great Father’s Day weekend! Our weekend was spent barbequing and golfing so I can’t complain.

Now that Father’s Day is over it’s time to look forward to our next weekend, which my phone tells me is supposed to be a lot nicer. Here’s keeping our fingers crossed!

There is so much going on this weekend it’s unbelievable.

To start things off…

Motorboat played on June 1.
Free music, cheap beer. What else could you
ask for on a Friday evening?

Rock the Dock
Friday, June 22 4-7 p.m.

Come down to the Boardwalk Marina and listen to some great live music and cheap beer! Bring your friends and relax on the water. This event is every Friday through the summer.

The Boardwalk Marina is Home to the Side-Tie Cafe which serves hotdogs, ice cream, coffee drinks as well as beer on Friday nights for Rock the Dock.

Uncorked at the Boardwalk
Saturday, June 23 4-7 p.m.
Need something a little more relaxed this weekend? Uncorked is a great event with free jazz music and inexpensive wine tasting.

Come meet-and-greet with local wineries and sample some of their greatest selections. So far Coeur d’Alene Cellars and Gnarly Head are just a couple of wineries that have been there this year. Come on down!

Sunday, June 24

Racers gather at the start line for Ironman 2011.

Ironman is one of the biggest events to hit Coeur d’Alene and the surrounding area. Every year thousands of people flock to the area to compete in one of the hardest athletic events a person can do. Come downtown and watch all the action!

The swim begins bright and early at 6 a.m. at Independence Point. Looking to volunteer or be involved? Visit and sign up.

It’s so much fun to watch the athletes and cheer them all on. Especially if you’re a local because there are so many locals that compete every year, you’re bound to recognize a few sweaty faces. Let’s cheer them on!

Car d’Alene

The Car d’Alene is probably one of my favorite events of the summer. Where else do you get a ton of people in one place appreciating the art that is the classic car and just having a good time? Other than Lost in the 50’s that is. The people in this area sure do have an affinity for classic cars, and I couldn’t be happier about it. For years I’ve been calling the spring/summer months “classic car season” and it’s true! The first nice weekend we get all the car junkies get their cars out and polish them up for the season.
Anyway, hope everyone could make it! Here are a few photos from the Friday night cruise:

Dad’s Weekend at Silver Mountain

Grab your dad and furry friend for Silver Mountain’s Bark n’ Brew on Sunday, it’s North Idaho’s largest dog-friendly beer festival. It starts at noon in the Village and ends at 7pm.

Take part in look-alike contests, best trick, best wag, cutest pup and more. Proceeds from this event benefit HELP (Help Every Little Paw). If you’re interested in riding the gondola, dads are free all day!
Visit the Silver Mountain calendar of events for more information.

Sounds like a blast!

We’re Here!

It’s official! Stuck in North Idaho is finally up and running! Now all we need are some events to write about.

Car d’Lane

This is the weekend for classic car lovers everywhere! No matter what’s going on, make your way to downtown Cd’A to see the classic car parade tonight or the Show n’ Shine tomorrow. Peruse your way through classic cars of all kinds (pre-1975 of course). This is a great tradition for all ages. Stick around late enough and you can catch the flame-throwers before they get kicked off the street. It’s a great time! Click here for more information from the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association.
